((FOCUS))

"Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Man, am I encouraged by this passage today. How many times I have tried to do something that I was so juiced up about only to lose focus and sink! Peter was a guy that was constantly doing things that just took the focus off where it needed to be. He lost focus in the water and nearly sunk, he pulled the sword and cut off a soldiers ear (John 10:18), and to top it all off, he denied Jesus not once, not twice, but three times (Luke 22:54-62). I am not encouraged that Peter failed, I am encouraged because of what Jesus said he would do through a willing Peter, He says, "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." (Matthew 16:18)

The point here is that God will use you despite your flaws or lack of focus. My thinking though is how much more could Jesus use us if we were to stay focused. I know for my own sanity, I need to slow down and acknowledge God. Acknowledge Him in the good, the bad and the normal everyday blessings. Focus starts with a "point". The direction you need to be headed must have a fixed destination. God is solid. That is the direction to head.
