I have been having a really tough time lately where to take this blog. Is it an online journal? Do people even read it? (Not really, I've tracked the numbers.) Is it a source of inspiration? Not sure. But one thing I know is...I love it!!! It is an opportunity for me to get back into writing on a consistent basis.
So if you will indulge me...these will be my memoirs to God. Have fun snooping...
God,
Today I read out of your word in Galatians. I am struck by what Paul says write off the bat. Here's what he says, but you, I am sure, already know this...
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Galatians 1:3-5
Now, this isn't like a mind blowing deal until you figure out what he is doing. Just a few verses later he begins to talk about God and man. Basically, taking a paraphrase here, I am working for God and not man, so deal with it. Even to the point where he says, "...look if I were working for man, then this isn't the line of work i'd be in." I give it up to him for making a really a bold statement to folks who were trying to abandon their faith.
What a great reminder this morning to have Paul tell us that we serve a God the one and only God that is worthy of praise.
Today, I will think about opportunities that I have to better serve God with my life, may calling and my family.
"Thank you God for the blessings of being called your servant. I dare say there is nothing sweeter then to know your Son. God, the blessings you have given me are to many to mention, but here are a few that I wanna thank you for daily. My wife. Amy is beyond a helpmate. She is my lover, my encourager and friend. I thank you for her as I serve in the ministry with you. My opportunity to serve at Mt. Carmel. God you have taken our little church to new heights and we grow daily. I thank you for allowing me to serve in such an amazing capacity for as long as I have. My baby girl. What a blessing. As I sit outside in Savannah, GA today, I think about how I pined away for a child for so many years and now, I am a daddy to that beautiful lil girl. You are amazing. Show me God, today what you would have me to learn at this conference. Open the hearts of our staff as we grow together to try to guide this church to new heights under your command. Love you God. Love you Jesus. Guide my spirit."
Godspeed Everyone!!!
